When we find out more about the size of the battery, the estimated charging time, and an official range estimate, we'll update this story with those details. Lexus hasn't released all the info on the plug-in hybrid TX550h+ model yet, but we know that it should provide enough battery capacity to power the three-row SUV for about 33 miles before needing to be recharged. The most powerful version of the TX, however, is the TX550h+, which uses a 3.5-liter V-6 engine and a plug-in hybrid system to generate 406 horsepower. The TX500h F Sport Performance ups the ante with standard all-wheel drive and the addition of a hybrid-assist system that boosts horsepower to 366 ponies this model comes with a six-speed automatic rather than an eight-speed. This entry-level powertrain makes 275 ponies and comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission and either front- or all-wheel drive. Models wearing the TX350 badge are powered by a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. Mid-range Premium and upscale Luxury trims are available for most models, but until we can get more information about which features are standard in which trims, we'll hold off making a recommendation on which is the best value.
